For people that are suffering from acne scar, it is crucial to maintain a good acne skin care regime given that the manifestation of acne happens as a result of skin pores which get clogged with dirt and oil, and subsequently mixed with a bacterium that causes red pumps on or underneath the skin. It is also important to have good hygiene practices by keeping the skin thoroughly clean to enable the body fight the bacteria that causes pustules. There are a lot of acne skin care products in the market that are effective in cleansing the skin. However, the basic acne treatment regime includes, using a moisturizer, exfoliating and cleansing agent.

What to Do
An acne scar skin care regimen should be completed twice per day in order to keep the skin as clean and clear as possible. This is especially important for women who wear makeup since makeup when left on at night is just waiting to clog up the pores and cause infection. For the first part of the acne skin care process, the skin should be cleansed of all extra dirt and oil with a cleanser. There are certain soaps that are specifically designed to cleanse the skin more thoroughly from excess oils which is great for those with acne, since often the oil glands in the skin are producing too much oil for whatever reason, usually hormones, and the oil must be removed.

The next stage in skin care for acne is, after the cleansing agent has been applied to the skin, is to start using exfoliating agent. Though some people disagree with this regime, however, the basic concepts of acne scar skin care regime are the same as you will find out. What you need to do next is start removing the left over dirt, oil, and dead skin from the skin missed by the cleanser; this will also help to oxygenate the skin in some way. Some acne sufferer have experience great improvement using skin care products such as 2.5% benzoyl peroxide because it help to dry the skin from excessive oil and as well as oxygenate the skin. Skin oxygenation is quite crucial because it has been documented that the bacteria could not survive in oxygenated environment, hence repeating the process twice a day would greatly minimize the likelihood of an infection.

Lastly, the final step will be to apply moisturizing agent to help replenish the skin and as well as keeping the skin from looking flakey and dry. It is important to apply the moisturizer lightly to avoid adding excess oil to the skin, but enough to nutrients the skin that will allow the skin to heal itself and subsequently looking healthy and vibrant.
