Cystic acne is one of the most irritating and painful types of acne that the sufferer have to endure. This is because it is formed of cysts that grow under the skin instead of the surface of the skin like normal acne occurrence. The causes of cystic acne are similar to other acne, such as bacteria and dirt that clogged the skin pores and then grow into pimples. The most effective treatment for cystic acne is to maintain good hygiene practices by keeping the skin clean all the time to prevent pustules from forming because of the bacteria and dirt on the skin.
Prevention of Cystic Acne
Cystic acne occurs most of the time due to hormonal changes in the sufferer body, during teenage years, menstrual cycles, or in some cases after pregnancy. The skin condition happen to both males and females, however, females has known to have frequent hormonal changes compare to male and hence are more likely get cystic acne. The likely acne sufferer tend to have the pores that get clogged even with clean skin due to sebaceous glands that over produce oil and subsequently clogging the pores of the skin which later result in acne.
Once the oil of the glands, the dirt and bacteria get mixed together, it will trigger cystic acne outbreak. Women should restrain from wearing make-up during break out since it will make the skin dirtier and more susceptible to bacteria which will further compound the problem. This is particularly difficult for women due to their inclination to cover the infected areas with make up because they don’t want to expose it for all to see. Nevertheless, it is essential to keep the skin clean during break out so that the pustules can heal more efficiently.
Furthermore, you should also restrain from constantly squeezing or scratching cystic acne because it will leave a permanent scars which are difficult and expensive to remove. It as well could result to darker and deep scars due to regular build up of blood and pus in the cysts which get aggravated when picked or squeezed. At times, it could be very difficult for acne sufferer to try to restrain from scratching the acne since the pustules could often become very itchy, which further compound the problem if the person has skin allergies.
